Aside from car insurance (either TPL or comprehensive insurance), Uber also requires a Passenger Accident (PA) Insurance.

What is PA Coverage?

PA Coverage is Passenger Accident Coverage. For riders’ safety, all vehicles on the Uber system must have Passenger Accident Coverage of at least Php200,000 per seat/ unnamed passenger.

How do I get PA Coverage?

Uber has partnered with a reputable insurance company that can provide PA Coverage to you at an affordable and convenient rate. You will need to purchase this after activating your account on Uber at a minimal cost of Php165 per seat per year (ex: yearly coverage for a 5-seater sedan would cost Php165 x 5 = Php825). For efficiency, we will collect your vehicle information after your account is activated and send this to Prudential for them to issue the coverage and certificate. Once the coverage is issued, we will just deduct the amount from your weekly statement.

From personal experience, the PA Coverage was deducted around the third weekly payout after submitting the details of the vehicle. Uber will send a text message or an email with the link to the submission form.
