Good news Partners, LTFRB is now allowing TNVS Accreditation for leased vehicles in Uber!
A while back, there were rumors that LTFRB DID NOT allow leased vehicles (those under in-house financing like Toyota Finacial Services or TFS) to get TNVS Accreditation.
According to LTFRB Memorandum for TNVS, the Vehicle Owner should be the TNVS Applicant (as reflected in the ORCR). There was a technical issue since the ORCR for leased vehicles reflects that the owner is still TFS and the vehicle is just being “leased to” or “encumbered to” the owner until the car is fully paid.
UPDATE: We got word from Uber Philippines that other leased vehicles (be it banks or in-house financing from other dealerships even not TFS) are also allowed by LTFRB to get CPC Accreditation. However, they haven’t given us the details and procedures how to go about it. We’ll update you once we get the details. But still, a good news for us! 🙂
BUT WORRY NO MORE!
LTFRB, Uber and Toyota Financial Services came to a solution to allow leased vehicles in Uber to get TNVS Accreditation.
Uber needs to acquire a Certificate of Conformity from TFS on behalf of the partners with TFS leased vehicles and submit it to LTFRB.
All we need to do as Partners is sign the consent sent via email (see photo).
If you are an existing Uber Partner and have submitted your TNVS Accreditation requirements, you should receive an email from Uber with the subject “Drive Using Your Leased Vehicle”. Check your email and sign immediately so Uber can process your CPC.

Maraming Salamat po for the consideration LTFRB and Toyota!
P.S. Meron ka rin bang leased vehicle na 3 years old or newer? You can now sign up with Uber and be your own boss! Here’s a step-by -step guide on how to be an Uber Partner. Let us know if you still have questions.
This article is for Toyota leased vehicles. How about other car make such as Hyundai (Accent), Mitsubishi (Mirage), Honda (City), etc.?
As of now, no news yet. But hopefully they follow soon. We’ll update the blog once we get official news from Uber.
News tonight hold ang application ng uber at grab papano ung mga pending at magpaparegister pa lang sa uber at grab, does it mean na d muna magaaccept ng new partners ang uber?

As of now, we’re still waiting for Uber Philippines’response. Hopefully, LTFRB will resume acceptance of new TNVS Applications soon.

As of now po, TFS pa lang ang alam namin. Will ask Uber Philippines’ Team about other leasing institutions. Will update this once we get answer from Uber.
Yes please! Aasahan ko po status with regards to this concern from your end…
good day admin, according to our agent, ndi daw pede ang TFS leased cars sa Uber kasi daw iba ang rate ng ammortization at insurance pag nkadeclare na uber.. pag private iba din… kaya parang impossible pa rin ata makakuha ng Letter of Conformity. Pano po kaya ito?

I emailed UBER about this and to get confirmation, but ang reply nila is for PA lang daw yun, but eventually marereject pa din for CPC ang mga leased vehicles. So I’m kinda confused ngayon on what to believe, coz their site is saying that LTFRB is now accepting CPC applications for leased vehicles thru TFSPH, but their email representative is saying otherwise.
What can you say about this po? TIA.
Uber’s email support is really sometimes not aligned baka po hindi pa sila updated. This news that we put in our blog is based on Uber’s email to existing partners and based on our talks with Uber Philippines Team. Hope this helps.
Whew! What a relief. Medyo kinabahan din kasi kami since leased through TFSPH yung vehicle namin. Thank you po!
ang tfc ayaw magbigay ng certificate of conformity king any car loan mo at privat.. Kase naka private and loan ano ba any dapat no gawin
Hi,
Thanks!
Kindly refer to this link about TNVS if vehicle not under your name: http://ubermanilatips.com/how-to-get-tnvs-and-ltfrb-accredited-in-uber-if-vehicle-is-not-under-your-name/
If I get a repossessed (2nd hand) car from a bank through bank financing, can i still apply for Uber?
Kindly refer to this link: http://ubermanilatips.com/?s=second
TFSPH makes you sign a document – Affidavit of undertaking for non -public use.
How’s this?
admin, ask ko lang po if this announcement by LTFRB (allowing cars under TFS to get TNVS) only applies to UBER? or pede din po s GRAB? thanks..
i posted this yesterday why was it deleted –
TFSPH makes you sign an Affidavit of Undertaking for Non public use.
Then UBER makes you sign a document allowing them to request from TFSPH on your behalf a Letter of Conformity. Which makes it malabo for them to issue since you signed an affidavit in the first place.
I was told by the agent that TFSPH has a different price for loans meant for uber. (higher dp, monthly and insurance)
Kindly enlighten . Because from the way I look at it – they look at it, they just released this news for the benefit of TFS and UBER to lure people into getting a car.. thus the reason for deleting my comment..
Hi Piper, we didn’t delete the comment, we just haven’t gotten to approve it since a LOT of comments are coming into this blog. As per our conversation with Uber, this has already been agreed upon by TFS, LTFRB and Uber. If you have concerns or questions, kindly email Uber directly at . We appreciate your patronage of our ridesharing blog!
we applied for a car under tfs…pero we have told the tfs team that made the C.I. that it was for personal use…makakaroon kaya ng conflict yun for the application of certificate of conformity from tfs tnx admin
According to Uber wala naman po dapat maging problem.

I just want to ask regarding Leased Vehicles. One of my unit is leased with TFS, this is already activated since last year. I was informed by your representative that application for PA is possible while application for CPC is not. I’m confused with the information coming from LTFRB’s approval re: Leased Vehicles (posted June 23, 2016). Latest update on this please?
Thank you.
How about compact cars like kia picanto, will it be a risk that it will not be accepted in the future? Or we can be assured that it will be allowed to operate for 3 years if new?
There’s no official news from LTFRB nor Uber that compact cars are not accepted anymore.

About “lease vehicle” issue po.
Why is it that 2% is the payment of confirmity with TFS. Is’nt it to much. How was the computation done. That they arrive in that certain percentage?
For your Partner/Driver concern, we recommend you report the concern via:
1. Uber Driver App. Select the Trip > Help > Select the issue
2. Uber Help Center. Go to https://help.uber.com, select city as Manila and choose “For Partners”. Sign in with your Partner/Driver account and select your issue/concern.
3. You can also go to Uber’s Office in The Square, Greenfields, Mandaluyong to have your issue fixed personally by an Uber support staff. Operating time is 9am-5pm
