There’s a lot of Partners asking what’s the best mobile data plan for Uber to use their UberPartner App/Device. This has been a concern for a while now but we only chose to only publish now because we want to try and test several plans first ourselves. So here’s our recommendation—
Smart data promo BigBytes 299
[with 1.7GB data allowance good for 30days]
Uber advises that the usual data usage of UberPartner App per month (considering you go online 6 days a week for 10-15 hours per day), is around 2 GB consumption per month.
So you might think the 1.7 GB allocation wouldn’t be enough? Well, based on experience, we’re able to use this for 30 days with an average of 10-15 online hours per day with no need of adding on additional data allowance. We use UberPartner App, Waze, Viber and COC. We don’t use Facebook and Youtube.
If in case, you think the data allowance would not be enough if you use other apps, don’t worry, there’s a way to monitor your data usage online and register to additional plans online in case data would not be enough. Read on to learn how we do this.
How to register to Smart BigBytes?
To register, just text “BIG299” to 9999 from your Smart Prepaid or Postpaid, just make sure you have enough load. But of course we don’t like typing in the phone and having to go to stores just to load the phone. So, continue to read this post to know how we manage our load online and how we enroll our device remotely from your laptop.
This is NOT (yet) a sponsored post. But if there are Smart people reading this, we hope you can come up already with an affordable alternative like the “UBER10” plan for us partners.
Also, as much as we wanted to put here a sulit Globe plan, we had a very bad experience trying Globe, just 1 week with it and after spending Php 599!!!, we gave up. We’re kind of frustrated because there are a lot of “deadspots” in Metro Manila when we drive.
How to monitor your data usage and register to promos online?
First, register your account in https://my.smart.com.ph/
After signing up and logging in, you’ll be taken to your Smart Account Dashboard. You can add multiple numbers (both postpaid and prepaid) if you want to manage multiple numbers in just one Smart account.
You’ll be taken to the dashboard of that number. Here, you can see the load balance, available texts, and even the remaining data in your promo/plan. You can either buy load here for your number or register to a plan or promo online:
How to buy Smart eload online?
After clicking the “Buy eLoad Online” (pink) button, you’ll be redirected to this page to select the amount you want to load.
Then, select if you want to load an enrolled number in your account or send to someone else.
You’ll be taken to the payment page. You can pay online via BancNet where you can pay with just your ATM number. Please note that not all banks or ATMs are linked to BancNet. Refer to the list below of BancNet affiliated banks. But with the recent merge of BancNet and Megalink, we hope they can cover all banks in the near future.
You will then be redirected to Pesopay payment gateway. Click on the BancNet logo and complete your payment.
How to register to promos/plans online?
You can register your number to promos or plans online without the need to type in your phone. Here’s how:
Select the “Get Add-Ons” button to enroll and register the number to a plan/promo:
Since we use a Broadband Prepaid Sim, we choose “BroadBand Prepaid” and choose “BigBytes299” under “Data” subscription.
You will then be taken to a confirmation page.
- Make sure that the number you want to enroll has enough load.
- Remember also that Php1 is required as maintaining balance.
- You cannot register a number to promos/plans online if it is not linked to your MySmart account.
Lastly, you can go back to your Smart Dashboard and your load and promo subscription should be reflected.

Grab will issue only Globe SIM.
The easiest way to register to promos in Smart is to dial *121# on your phone 🙂
Is UBER10 etc. No longer available?
Sir we tried it before pero binawi ni Uber yun eh. So not sure if it’s still working. Let us know if you tried it. 🙂

I used to have the mini ipad provided by uber with a Globe plan, never had a problem like hanged device etc. Gps was great due to Glonas the russian satellite but uber had me returned it a few weeks back. Now i bought a O+ Evo 4G, man it was cheap like p4t and bought it on installment, it came with a Smart Bro Lte sim, been using the Unli Lte plan 299 for 7 days it does cost much but access is really fast even in 3g. Also do not under estimate the cheap O+ evo 4g because it has a 64 bit quadcore processor that translates to Power and Speed, the device never hangs, unlike the uber android Zen….Grab has Huawei Ascend Y600 dual core with 512RAM 3G only and partnered with Globe, Just sharing guys…Mobility as a Service thats us, your ride (car) u share = rideshare.

We are now using globe unlisurf 150 good for 3 days. We tried SMART with plan 999 per month, 6GB pure data but its unreliable, totally disappointed. The first month we only used it for 15 days. This month it only lasted for 20 days. Message prompt says we’ve already consumed all our data plan. We only using it for UBER how come we have consumed the 6GB data in just 20 days? I already reported this to SMART but to no avail. Maybe you can point this out to SMART, uber admin since they’re your partner.

Is it advisable na isa lang yung SIM for internet and contact number? My concern is if I get a postpaid account for my driver (better text, internet combos, may free smartphone pa), it’s difficult to change network since I will be in a contract for two years. Or two sims na lang, separate yung net at contact number?
For us separate, para yung isa you can call and text habang yung isa solely for the Driver App lang.
Is it adbvisable if i use Sky moby pocket wifi?

We are using the GOTSCOMBODD70 promo of Globe for p70/week; 1GB data and 1000texts to Globe. It’s very cheap but the internet keeps on disconnecting from time to time. We are always having a trouble ending the trip due to network error. Can you guys share your experience also? Thinking switching to Smart because of this. Thanks!
Based on our experience of more than a year of operation, this works pretty well. pero hindi maiiwasan kapag may topak ang Smart (kahit Globe naman) 🙁

when you call the rider via Uber app, does it charge on your Network (Smart, Globe or SUN) or it uses Internet Communication?
If yes, then data plan is all I need.

Hi..mga ka uber may nakaexperience na po ba sa inio na ng error yung uber apps?habang nakasakay yung pasahero at ihahatid mo na sa drop point?dahil sa error ng uber apps hndi ngregister sa account na naisakay mo at naibaba na destination yung psahero!.hindi pumasok yung kinita ng driver dhil sa error ng apps.ano dapat gawin at saan irereport yung ganong problema?

Usually sa ibang Country meron “Uber Kit”. Kasama na don phone device, cable, car charger at iba pang kailangan ng Uber Driver. Ask ko lang kung ganon din ba sa Pinas? Is it okay kung ang ireregister mong sasakyan ay sayo at ikaw din mismo ang driver?

Nakapagsubmit na po kami required docs online, do I still need to go sa uber office? I’m receiving messages from uber n pwede n ko magstart.
If you’ve submitted all your requirements, your account should be activated within 2-3 days. You’ll receive an email from Uber that you are activated and can start driving.
You can also Check if your account is activated, try to login sa Uber Partner Driver App. If makalogin na yung driver account sa Uber Partner Driver App, ok na., you can go online and accept trips.

I’m a newbie driver. For the first few days it seems OK. But recently, I encountered some glitches like:
1. I’ve already accepted a request, then suddenly it was gone. This happened most of the times this days thereby affecting my acceptance rate – and almost always – uber will notify me that I am not accepting request.
2. I have encountered a 0.00 billing for my riders. This happened last Sunday, January 29. I have accepted a request from Alabang to Proj 7 QC. Upon drop off, uber charge is 0.00.
3. Also, this week – all my riders are charged very low that customers themselves are amazed. For example: I have a rider from Alabang to MOA – uber charge only P100+. Yesterday, January 30, 2017 – I have a rider from Alabang to Terminal 1 NAIA – uber charge only less than P100.
I have already emailed this concerns but got no reply. Please HELP.
For your Partner/Driver concern, we recommend you report the concern via:
1. Uber Driver App. Select the Trip > Help > Select the issue
2. Uber Help Center. Go to https://help.uber.com, select city as Manila and choose “For Partners”. Sign in with your Partner/Driver account and select your issue/concern.
3. You can also go to Uber’s Office in The Square, Greenfields, Mandaluyong to have your issue fixed personally by an Uber support staff. Operating time is 9am-5pm, here’s the schedule of Partner Activation Centers: http://driveonuber.com/s chedules/
